![]() I think my favorite Pourover I ever drank (purchased from a Coffee Cart at the U district Farmers Market of all places) was from Stamp Act Coffee in Ballard. I used to go to their (now closed) Bellevue location all the time and they literally made me pourovers to try virtually every single coffee they carried for sale- something like 25-30 coffees. If you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and drive to Kirkland or Everett (whichever is closer) and visit Seattle Coffee Gear. First of all, You can always drive down to Olympia Coffee Roasters' Columbia City location to pick up their beans (or if you know someone who works for amazon corporate, IIRC their Doppler building by the Amazon Spheres has an OCR cafe inside it). I'm going to throw a couple Seattle-area suggestions at you, hopefully this helps. Skip the box and upgrade your bags.Īll in all, I would put any of my favorite Texas based roasters I'm used to above this one. The bags inside are not even resealable and don't have any name or label on the bag itself. The boxes are a huge gimmick also, talk about Instagram bait. Bean size and grind was pretty average for this one, so quite different from Framily. The flavor on that one is very bland for a traditional roast and despite saying it goes well with milk I found even made as a cortado any redeeming flavors got lost in even that amount of milk. Haven't made it to the bottom of the bag so it might look like cookie crumbs too, who knows. ![]() Broken bits, chaff, but not as much as Framily. I have had maybe ~80g from the Monarch bag and the beans are still not great looking. Even after dialing it in the shots were often inconsistent from shot to shot. One interesting thing about this blend is they required a much coarser ground than most beans I have encountered. Having go through all but this last bit I can say the flavor was just OK. ![]() There was about 10g or less left that looked even worse that I didnt bother to put into a container. Pretty sure I will just trash that dose cause it's so filled with broken beans, chaff, etc. The photo is of the last portion of the Framily bag. Purchased Onyx Monarch and Framily due to the overwhelming "reviews" from this sub and others.
